My motivation to become a Funeral Celebrant grew from my own experiences of death, complemented by the skills I acquired from a teaching career supporting Special Needs as a Communicator to The Deaf and a degree in Music, Dance and Drama.
I successfully completed the National Qualification Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy and hold Associate Membership of the Institute of Civil Funerals.
A celebrant’s key skills are listening and communicating effectively. I love to share my lifelong passion for words and music, which enable us to express our human experiences.
Of course, not all funerals can be celebratory, but I do believe that, like other important life events, they should be planned carefully and carried out with a sense of pride, whatever the circumstances.
I am married with two grown up children and live in Dorset.
